How affiliate links work
SkinChecker is a free skincare ingredient checker. To keep the site running, we participate in affiliate programmes with retailers. When you click a link to a retailer on our site and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from that sale.
This commission comes from the retailer, not from you. You pay exactly the same price whether you use our link or go directly to the retailer's website.
Our affiliate partners
SkinChecker is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk. As an Amazon Associate, SkinChecker earns from qualifying purchases.
Amazon is currently our only affiliate partner. Each product page links to Amazon so you can check the latest price and availability.
When you click a "Search on Amazon" or "View on Amazon" link on any product page, that link is typically an affiliate link.
Does this affect our ingredient analysis?
No. Our ingredient breakdowns are based on the product's published INCI list and are not influenced by whether or not we have an affiliate relationship with a retailer.
Our goal is to help you understand what's in a product and make informed decisions. You are always free to buy the same product from any retailer you prefer.
How to identify affiliate links
Affiliate links on SkinChecker are identified in the following ways:
- Links to Amazon on product pages are affiliate links
- Buy buttons are labelled "Paid link" directly beneath them
- Our site footer includes a note that we may earn commission from some retailer links
Social media and advertising standards
If we share affiliate links on social media platforms (such as Instagram Stories, Twitter, or Facebook), we clearly identify them using #ad in compliance with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) guidelines.
Cookies and tracking
When you click an Amazon link, Amazon may place a cookie on your device so that a qualifying purchase can be attributed to SkinChecker. Amazon's own Cookies Notice explains how they use cookies.
